I went out today for the first ride on a new machine, this SP is awesome. Power to spare, great handling? That exhaust note is sweet compared to my My only complaint is the CST tires. I had 2 flat tires in the first 20 miles. Both were small punctures on the side walls. If CST had any sidewall protection, i don't think this would have happened.
I'm glad it has ample storage for an air compressor and plug kit or else I'd still be walking! I'd rate this SP a 5 star if it weren't for the cheap tires. Date published: I used it for Hunting land management and rifle season for whitetail. Atv did everything and more. Lots of Power. We had some trails in the woods that were flooded and had an inch of ice on top and I was able to drive drive through it in AWD and low gear like it was nothing.
Nobody else wanted to try to go through it. The only down fall is that It warmed up this Hunting season and the wheel wells and all the small little places underneath were just filled with mud.
I mean so much it was touching the tires. Other then that I would highly recommend the Cheaper then the and I don't think you will notice the 12 hp difference.
It has power to handle rough terrain but it's not an optimum hunting machine. It is too loud for hunting and it doesn't idle around at slow speed well.
The differentials are noisy.Registration is fast and you can even login with social network accounts to sync your profiles and content. It ran perfectly, nothing wrong at all.
I usually go mudding with it or just ride trails with buddies. So as you would assume, the quad is quite dirty from sitting for a few weeks. The rpms with then fluctuate rpms back and forth repeatedly, it will then run for about another seconds and the RPMs will slowly drop to about RPM and stall out. Even when set at a wide open throttle like that, I still have to give it some throttle to get it to fire up.
Here is what I have done so far:. Checked the belt and clutch. Changed out spark plug Last one was covered in carbon. Cleaned the intake and air box. Replaced the carburetor. Replaced the inline fuel filter.
Checked that all lines on carburetor are connected into the right spots. Cleaned battery terminals and battery off. Shut on and off Gas Line Cutoff Valve. My next thoughts are that maybe the TPS is fucked up or maybe the Spark Arrestor is plugged with mud.
I was thinking tomorrow to purge the exhaust and also check the ohms output on the TPS. I think your on the right track with the TPS. You can calibrate it with an ohms meter but probably better off buying the calibration tool.
For the first item: if you are running that high an RPM at 20 mph, you most certainly have a clutch problem. Your Polaris works very similar. One of them is not working correctly. If you are fuel injected, you have a TPS attached to a throttle body.
What is your current setup? Then adjust the cable to just past where the contacts separate. After reading your post you said you tinkered with cleaning the carb and now the idling is erratic. Double check the long needle to make sure the clip didnt fall off. Set it into 3rd notch and see what happens. You can post now and register later.

A near perfect machine with a great looking new design that sharpen the over all appearance. Does have build in front box, so saves bucks there at least. Love the cup holder. Been on Polaris almost 10 years now. Date published: I love everything about mythe ride, power, and comfort is superb vs my touring model.
HOWEVER, it is in the shop right now for shifting issues, it started off hard to shift when I bought it new and after 17 hours of use it will not shift at all unless it is not running. I don't like the fact I was warned when dropping it off at my dealership that if I burned a belt it would not be covered under warranty?
Not sure how I could burn a belt with only 17 hours of easy riding around my property, I am 63 years old and I am not by any means abusing this ATV. I don't like the uneasy feeling of waiting 7 days now to see if I am going to have to pay anything to repair a brand new quad.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jack84 from Almost perfect!! Love the power the way it handles. The seat is amazing and the cup holder is definitely a nice extra bonus. Also the lock and ride box has a tendency to come unfastened easier that was expected Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by Brett67 from Great riding machine but. I bought my Sportsman and was super excited about the ride quality and power. The handling and ride performance is the best I've experienced from an ATV.
However, after putting just a couple hours on the machine notably only light riding around our farmI started noticing a clunking sound coming from the rear end, especially at low speeds. I've had Polaris machines in the past that lasted thousands of miles without issue. I guess I'm currently a bit disappointed that this current one is already demonstrating that there's something not right.
Sure glad I purchased an extended warranty. Rated 3 out of 5 by RoyH from There is good and bad with this touring The good: Power, handling, the ride, reliability so farseat comfortfront storage and 4x4 ability.
